Can a Politician Be Pro Choice and Pro Abortion: Archbishop Has Proposed a Test

It is 1855. You have decided to vote for a politician who is "personally opposed to slavery, but pro choice on the issue." Your choosing him is based on his stands on all the other issues which in your judgment outweighs his support of the system of slavery. Could you explain your vote with a clean heart to a black man in manacles?

Chaput,a student of Ronald Lawler and a Capuchin, shepherds the Roman Catholics in the archdiocese of Denver which includes most of Northern Colorado.
